This fashion week, I went on the 3rd day.As usual, it was filled with street stylers and OH BOY!!How I love street style. If you wonder what street style actually means: It’s not your mainstream fashion. As the name says, it comes from the streets, it is urban, usually very trendy clothing. Most street style looks are usually inspired from high fashion, couture, hippie, bohemian style, psychedelic imagery, punk fashion, Gothic, preppy, androgynous, etc…
Unlike mainstream fashion that is the ordinary clothes most people wear and which is found in all the malls — nothing too weird or outlandish…Street style always deeply resonates with more complex personal, even philosophical, political and artistic meanings.A choice of cut, colour or fabric is usually calculated by the wearer to convey a precise summary of attitude and lifestyle. Street style obliged the individual to wear his or her values and beliefs on the sleeve in a way that more often than not, required confidence, attitude, and courage.
Arguably, it is this capacity to give visual expression and articulate personal differences and therefore, to create the possibility of interpersonal connection with like-minded individuals which, in an age of visual communication add significant meaning and intriguing thoughts.
So for my l look, I wore a recently bought Acne T- shirt paired with the A.Philips cocoon jacket I have obsessed with lately and will elaborate more on it in another article. For the bottom, I opted for a distress denim skirt-trousers and pink salmon trainers. To conclude, I will say my look was very much a street style update of the classic white t-shirt and denim trousers with the trainers we sport daily.
Here are some looks that caught my eye.
